Award for Scottish Biodiesel produced with Austrian technology

back

The most sustainable biodiesel worldwide is produced in Scotland. In March 2009 Argent Energy is awarded the prize for “Sustainable Biodiesel Producer 2009” at the “Sustainable Biofuel Awards”. The Scottish producer of biofuels is using animal fats and used cooking oil as raw materials for the production of his award-winning biodiesel. The biodiesel plant, however, has been constructed by an Austrian company.

VTU Engineering has extensive know-how in the field of biodiesel plants – with special focus on multi-feedstock processes. In these process plants, not only fresh vegetable oils but also used cooking oil and animal fats can be converted to biodiesel conforming to all standards, which is technologically by far more challenging than blending with fresh oils. BDI – BioDiesel International, worldwide market and technological leader in the field of multi-feedstock biodiesel plants, has provided the award-winning plant in Scotland. VTU Engineering has supported BDI from the very beginning in an exclusive partnership for biodiesel production concerning process development, basic engineering, regulatory affairs, detail engineering and commissioning.
