Turn-key Waste Gas Treatment
VTU delivers customised scrubbers for your waste gas composition.
VTU has already delivered several turn-key scrubbers. For an
ammonia concentration of up to 25% in the raw gas, concentrations of
< 2 mg/m3 are achieved in the purified gas. The resulting ammonia
solution has approx. 8% NH3.
Waste-air is produced with more or less severe pollution in many industrial production processes and thus has to be purified appropriately. VTU develops and supplies sophisticated plant solutions for this purpose.
Pollutants are often harmful to the environment, but they can also be useful materials for production. In two steps, the pollutants are first separated from the polluted waste air and subsequently treated according to the
composition required for your process.
We manufacture vent-gas scrubbers ranging from simple spray absorbers to complex special designs – with compelling results:
- Jet or packed scrubbers
- Absorption scrubbers with pure water
- Oxidation scrubbers
- Special-purpose scrubbers
Ammonia scrubber example
Several processes in the chemical and the metal industry produce waste gases with high concentrations of ammonia. VTU developed a process to recover ammonia by scrubbing with pure water. The product is a solution of NH3 in water that can be re-used in the process or concentrated by distillation.
The key advantages of this process are:
- economical recovery of NH3
- no chemical additives required
- no waste water
- capability to tackle high concentrations of NH3 in the raw gas
- NH3 concentration in purified gas compliant with regulations (< TA Luft)
