Type of employment

Full-time
Are you passionate about automation in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries and ready to take on responsibility, not just contribute, but lead?

Then this role is tailor-made for you: As Teamlead Software Engineering PCS 7, you will take technical and organizational ownership of our software portfolio from baseload operations and projects to on-call services and engineering standards. You’ll act as the key interface between our Swiss site and the Corporate Department in Austria, aligning regulatory requirements, customer needs, and technical excellence.

Your contribution to our success:

  • Portfolio & Line Responsibility: You’ll oversee our PCS 7 software portfolio (baseload & projects), prioritize tasks, plan capacities, assign Lead Engineers/Project Leads, and ensure delivery capability.
  • Team Building & Leadership: You’ll grow the software engineering team (hiring, coaching, skill management) and develop both people and methodologies.
  • Corporate Department Interface (AT): Our templates and libraries are provided by the Corporate Department in Austria. You’ll manage adoption, versioning, rollout in Switzerland, and coordinate Austrian resources for Swiss mandates. You’ll also handle customer coordination in Switzerland.
  • CSV Partnership: In close collaboration with our CSV team, you’ll deliver holistic solutions—from regulated chemical applications to GxP projects in pharma (GAMP 5, Annex 11/21 CFR Part 11).
  • Baseload & On-Call Services: You’ll lead the on-call service technically and organizationally (shift planning, escalations, KPIs) and act as a 3rd-level sparring partner for critical incidents.
  • Standards & Quality: You’ll govern engineering standards (CFC/SFC/SCL, WinCC, naming conventions), conduct reviews, define test strategies, and support documentation (URS/FS/FDS), FAT/SAT, and IQ/OQ processes.

Your profile:

  • Degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical field.
  • Extensive experience with Siemens PCS 7 (engineering & commissioning), proficient in CFC/SFC, SCL, WinCC, S7-410, Batch/S88.
  • Solid understanding of process control system architecture (HW/SW layers, networks, redundancies, virtualization/backups, OT basics).
  • Proven experience in technical and organizational leadership of engineering teams. You motivate, develop, and coach team members, communicate clearly, and take responsibility in complex project situations.
  • Customer-oriented and resilient.
  • You understand production processes and can logically translate them into automation solutions.
  • Fluent in German and English.
Bonus Skills:
  • MES knowledge and interface understanding (e.g., Historian, LIMS, EBR).
  • Experience in regulated environments (GAMP 5, Annex 11/21 CFR Part 11).
  • OT security (IEC 62443), Profibus/Profinet, migration/modernization projects.
  • FDS experience: not just implementing, but authoring Functional Design Specifications.

Our offer:

  • A secure job with varied and challenging tasks.
  • Freedom for initiative and the opportunity to contribute your individual strengths.
  • Appreciative work culture with flat hierarchies and a lived “DU” culture.
  • Flexible working hours (no core hours) and home office options.
  • VTU Academy with internal and external training opportunities.
  • Individual career and development paths (organizational or expert career).
  • Pension and health benefits.
  • Lunch and REKA vouchers.
