Architect and civil engineer Meinhard Legerer takes over the strategic management of VTU’s CSA

The international technology and engineering company VTU gains Meinhard Legerer, an experienced civil engineer and architect, as a strategic leader in the company group's emerging CSA division.

Meinhard Legerer brings to his role over 15 years of experience in architectural and construction planning for industrial operations, including clean room pharmaceutical production facilities. In numerous projects, he and his teams were able to implement complete general planning projects, including procurement and implementation across all service phases (EPCM), thus gaining extensive experience. As a team leader and BIM officer in a large international architectural office, he also gained distinctive competencies in business and employee development.

Meinhard Legerer studied architecture and civil engineering, and is a certified civil engineer as well as a certified project manager. With his profound expertise in the planning and execution of general planning projects, office management and the working tool BIM (Building Information Modeling), he will strengthen the CSA department and further develop it into an essential pillar in VTU.

"The early involvement of the CSA department in overall planning leads to robust planning decisions and contributes significantly to overall success. My role is to seamlessly weave the whole building planning process into the VTU network, so that our interfaces are catalysts rather than barriers."

For more than 3 years, the CSA department has complemented VTU's range of services as a general planner, offering its clients comprehensive planning expertise from a single source. By including building design from the very beginning, processes, logistics, technology and buildings can be optimally integrated. Thus, both engineers and architects provide advice right from the start of the project and use the innovation potential of the early project phase. As a planning tool, and thus an interface to the engineering disciplines, the CSA department relies on Building Information Modeling (BIM), which provides a digital twin of the building for all planning participants in the CDE (Common Data Environment).

In his role as Head of CSA, Meinhard Legerer will continue to build up the department in Austria and, together with his colleagues from the VTU companies, will strategically manage its development to align services with market conditions in an agile manner and further optimize internal CSA processes. Digitalization, automation and standardization in the planning process as well as sustainable building designs already play a key role here.
