Our VTU team in Muttenz is looking for committed and experienced professionals in the field of engineering for the position of Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer, with a special focus on Space Management.

Your contribution to our success:

  • Technical leadership and coordination of 3D planning (piping design, layout planning, integration of space management concepts) with multiple project stakeholders in an international planning environment, including coordination of a nearshoring team
  • Development and review of space management concepts
  • Regular monitoring and evaluation of planning progress, including status reporting within your discipline
  • Structuring and organizing the mechanical and piping team within the project in coordination with other disciplines such as CSA
  • Ensuring compliance with defined LODs (List of Deliverables and Level of Detail)
  • Resource planning for the discipline within the project context
  • Representing the mechanical and piping discipline within the project team and acting as the technical point of contact for the client
  • Participation in proposal and tender preparation

Your profile:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, plant engineering, process engineering, or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in plant and piping engineering (chemical/pharmaceutical/apparatus construction)
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Mechanical and Piping Engineer in 3D planning
  • Solid knowledge of GMP environments
  • Experience in quality assurance and technical documentation
  • Confident use of digital planning and CAD systems (e.g., Aveva E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D)
  • High level of personal responsibility, accuracy, and organizational talent
  • Independent, structured working style with excellent time management
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Willingness to travel as required by the project
