Sales Engineer for Automation & Industrial Digitalisation (f/m/d) – 100%

As a Sales Engineer, you support our clients in their automation and digitalisation projects. You identify market opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and guide clients from the first conversation to the final proposal. Together with the team, you turn ideas into concepts, create cost estimates, and present solutions. You act as the interface between clients, sales, and engineering, providing valuable feedback to shape our portfolio.

Your contribution to our success:

• Opportunity Management: Identify, qualify, and develop leads in existing and new accounts (focus on Switzerland)
• Solution Selling: Gather user requirements (URS), consult on automation, EI&C, OT/MES, and digitalisation – from brownfield retrofits to greenfield CAPEX projects
• Proposals & Costing: Develop solution concepts, bill of materials/scopes, effort and cost estimates, proposal documents, and presentations in collaboration with engineering and the sales team
• Internal Interface: Provide market feedback to the portfolio (DCS/PLC/SCADA, safety, instrumentation, OT networks, MES, historian/analytics)
• Project Management: Lead early project phases such as feasibility studies and concept design
• Consulting: Advise clients on automation and digitalisation topics

Your profile:

• Completed technical education or degree (e.g., automation, electrical/EI&C, process engineering)
• Several years of experience in solution sales/pre-sales for automation/EI&C/OT or in technical project environments within the process industry
• Knowledge of DCS/PLC/SCADA, safety/ATEX, instrumentation; ideally also GxP/GMP, MES/OT integration, data historian/analytics
• Skilled in gathering customer requirements and preparing solid cost estimates and compelling proposals
• Experienced with CRM systems
• Strong communicator, reliable, results-driven, and enthusiastic about customer interaction
• Fluent in German and English
• Willingness to travel as required
