AI Inhouse Consultant (m/f/d)

As an AI Inhouse Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s AI strategy within an engineering consultancy environment. Embedded within the Digitization arm of the Digital Solutions Team, you will act as the bridge between strategic AI vision and practical implementation.

This role is responsible for translating high-level AI concepts into structured, value-driven initiatives, managing them end-to-end as both projects and products. You will work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer and Director of Digital Solutions to operationalize AI across the organization.

This role is central to transforming the company into an AI-enabled engineering consultancy. By bridging strategy and execution, the AI Inhouse Consultant will ensure that AI initiatives deliver real business value and position the company as a leader in digital innovation.

Your responsibilities:

• Translate strategic AI objectives into actionable initiatives aligned with business goals
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI use cases across engineering, operations, and corporate functions
• Lead AI initiatives end-to-end, from ideation through to deployment and scaling
• Manage cross-functional teams including IT, business units, external partners, and vendors to design AI/ML solutions that meet business needs
• Evaluate and select AI tools, platforms, and partners
• Oversee model lifecycle including development, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Ensure ethical AI practices and governance frameworks are applied
• Track performance of AI initiatives against defined KPIs
• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on AI opportunities and capabilities, Report progress and outcomes to senior leadership
• Facilitate workshops, ideation sessions, and training programs

Your profile:

• 5+ years of experience in digital transformation, innovation, or technology consulting
• Proven experience managing complex projects and/or digital products
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML initiatives in a business context, strong understanding of AI/ML concepts (e.g., NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics)
• Experience in engineering consultancy or similar technical industries is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with AI tools and platforms (e.g., Azure AI, OpenAI, Python-based ecosystems)
• Knowledge of data architecture, data governance, and integration concepts
• Understanding of regulatory and ethical considerations in AI
• Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken) – mandatory
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach
• Highly personable, outgoing, and confident communicator, ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Willingness to travel

For this position, we offer a gross annual salary starting at € 75,000 (not all-inclusive) based on full-time employment. Depending on qualifications and experience, a higher salary may be offered.
