During the coronavirus pandemic, there were repeated bottlenecks in the supply of medicines. These arose in part from difficulties in supply chains outside Europe and led to a desire to minimise dependence on third countries.
Dr. Konrad Schaefer, Division Manager Operational Experts at VTU Engineering, writes in his current specialist article about strategies for bringing active ingredient production back to Europe.
