Boehringer Ingelheim RCV GmbH & Co KG is building a new biopharmaceutical production facility in Vienna, the so-called Large-Scale Cell Culture, LSCC.

With a volume of around 700 million euros, this project is Vienna's largest industrial investment project in decades. VTU Engineering was contracted by Boehringer Ingelheim for the Utilities planning and will also support the completion of the Utilities equipment up to the commissioning. Almost 50 kilometres of pipelines will be used for the Utilities trade. Dozens of tanks and heat exchangers as well as around 150 pumps and over 5.000 valves are connected to each other by over 7.000 individual pipelines.

The renowned journal "Austrian Life Sciences - Chemiereport" publishes a series of articles about this mega-project. The current issue features a two-page, detailed article about the utilities trade.
