VTU expands automation expertise

VTU Engineering GmbH acquires 100% of the shares in metior GmbH

VTU Engineering GmbH, an Austrian plant engineering company based in Grambach near Graz, has established itself in recent years as a successful player in the German-speaking world, particularly in the general planning of major investments. Now VTU Engineering has brought an experienced EMSR partner on board in the form of metior and is taking a great leap forward in the development of automation expertise. This enables VTU to cover the digitisation of process plants from the planning of the field level to programming MES systems in-house. The number of employees in the VTU Group will rise to over 700 as a result of the expansion.

Robert Wutti, Managing Director at VTU Engineering

We are very pleased that we have now been able to further expand our know-how through metior and are therefore ideally positioned at all levels of plant design. This cooperation will be beneficial especially for our customers.

metior, based in Graz, was founded in 1985 and specialises in EMSR planning and automation. The companies have already worked together on a number of projects. metior will continue to be run independently as a 100% subsidiary of VTU Engineering under its existing company name and the management will remain with the existing directors and partners.

Martin Ableitner, Managing Director metior GmbH

In VTU, we have a stable and constantly growing company behind us that is investing in our further development. With the additional manpower of VTU engineers, but also with the support in other areas, we can now offer larger and more comprehensive projects.
